This wine feels like it hasn’t quite found itself yet. There’s potential here, but right now everything comes across as a little raw and undeveloped — the kind of bottle that probably rewards patience more than an early opening. It’s not unpleasant, just not ready to show its best. Worth revisiting in a year or two if you can hold off.

Honestly, it’s a perfectly drinkable wine — nothing wrong with it exactly, but nothing that really grabbed my attention either. I finished the glass without complaint, but I also didn’t find myself rushing to pour another. Sometimes a wine just sits in that middle ground where it does the job without ever exciting you, and for me this was one of those. At this price point I was hoping for a little more of a spark. Might work well enough as a casual weeknight pour, but it’s not something I’d seek out again or recommend with any real enthusiasm. Solidly average.

There’s something here worth exploring — the wine opens with enough interest to draw you in — but unfortunately it doesn’t hold up through to the end. The finish falls flat, which is a shame, because a wine lives or dies by how it lingers. It’s not a bad bottle by any means, but that lack of persistence on the palate left me feeling a little underwhelmed overall. Might be worth revisiting, but for now it sits squarely in the middle of the road.

This wine feels tight and unyielding right now — it’s a tough one to enjoy after opening. There’s potential here, but it simply wasn’t ready to show its best. I’d be curious to revisit it with more air or after a few more years in the cellar, but as it stood, it was a bit of a struggle to appreciate. A middling experience for the moment, though not without some hope for the future.

This wine delivers a pleasant drinking experience, though it didn’t quite match what I was looking for. I’d hoped for something with more body and weight, but instead found a lighter profile. That said, it’s still well-made and easy to enjoy. If you prefer wines with more heft and structure, you might want to explore other options, but if you appreciate a delicate, approachable style, this could be right up your alley. Solid choice for a casual evening.

This is a straightforward, honest wine that delivers what you’d expect at the price point. There’s nothing fancy or complex here, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s the kind of bottle you can feel good about grabbing for a weeknight dinner or casual gathering without overthinking it. The value proposition is solid—you’re getting a decent drinking experience without breaking the bank. Not a wine that’ll blow your mind or become a cellar staple, but it does its job well. A reliable choice if you’re looking for something dependable and unpretentious.

A perfectly drinkable NV that does the job without leaving much of an impression. It’s the kind of wine you’d be content to have at a casual gathering, but it doesn’t offer anything particularly memorable or distinctive. There’s nothing wrong with it—it’s simply straightforward and middle-of-the-road. If you’re looking for complexity or character, you’ll want to look elsewhere, but if you just need something reliable and approachable, this delivers on that front.

I’ve been a loyal Hess member for years, so I was disappointed by what felt like misleading marketing on this one. The wine itself is decent—nothing wrong with it—but I can find the same bottle for $17.99 elsewhere. Seeing it pumped as a $60 bottle left a bad taste in my mouth, honestly. I expect better transparency from a brand I’ve trusted for so long. It’s a solid pour at the right price point, just wish the positioning had been more straightforward.

This California wine sits in an odd position. It’s a solid, drinkable wine that doesn’t quite justify its suggested retail price. I picked it up for around $16–17, and at that price point, it’s a worthwhile pour—approachable and pleasant enough for casual drinking. However, if you’re paying full SRP, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. There are plenty of other options in that price range that offer better value. It’s the kind of wine that rewards patience and hunting for a deal, rather than grabbing it off the shelf at full ask.

Good wine and nice customer service team - expensive auto renewed subscription cost

The prices look very good but this was the first time I have used the app and could not find a way to make up a mixed case of wine I wanted to buy.

Response from customer service seemed to take a little longer than expected

This app has me going round in circles and ending up back at the quiz page instead of allowing me to browse offers

Personally I don’t like it when companies entice you in to a subscription with special deals only to find you can’t get the same prices on their app. Cloudy bay Sauv blanc and whispering angel are two such examples. Subscribe and you can’t access those prices again!

Quite a challenge with the app, however the support/customer service helps. A bit disappointed with variety/options - feels like a lot of hype for something fairly “middle of the road” - nothing special/exciting really once you’ve seen a few days of the “daily drops”

This company MUST not be trusted. I found monies taken from my credit card using incorrect card information. When I enquired I was told I had started a trial. All I had recalled doing was trying to view their site, at no point did I provide enough details to be accepted as a ‘member’, nor did I sign up to a trial. I received no correspondence about this ‘trial’ nor anything about the end of this fake trial. I have also raised a complaint against my credit card provider who allowed monies to be taken without correct card information. Watch out everyone. Can see why the ASA are investigating. Update. Winedrops have been in touch and provided a full credit, with an apology for the confusion caused. For that alone I have increased my score to 3 stars. They still believe that their website, and the charges being raised, are clear. I remain of the opinion they are not. Many many negative reviews cannot be wrong.

Got a really good deal on 6 bottles of wine. As a member of a couple of wine clubs I would comment that: 1. My order was late. The carrier said it was delivered when it wasn’t. 2. Communications could be improved. I found it difficult to get in touch and get an answer from Winedrops 3. I was told I was getting a free extra bottle with my order and didn’t.

Not the massive bargain I was expecting. Could have bought cheaper in Costco but thought I was getting a deal based on the over inflated RRP quoted. Also - very confusing when trying to cancel subscription. Was no confirmation and said account would renew today so I did it again today and now it says it will renew next week? It better not!

Ok… so… I am not a fool and I double check stuff but someone the £119 ‘membership’ passed me by, which si very very annoying. If it is such a big deal, front it up properly. I feel very annoyed.

The wine is a lot more expensive now and I’m not sure is value for money.

I had heard about some good deals on popular brands of wine so signed up to see what was available. I wasn’t entirely clear that I would be charged the £119 member fee just a couple of days in, so I contacted the support team to ask for a refund. I had no reply. However… as I had resigned myself to having paid the one-year fee, I have looked at some of the deals and some are excellent (such as Whispering Angel at around £12/bottle) so we have had some good deals. Whether we’ll recoup the membership cost in savings, I am not sure, because lots of the wine/champagne is available at Sainsbury’s for a lot cheaper when they have their ‘25% off for six’ offer on. I find the app difficult to use, but the website much easier.

Wine is delivered as stated and prices are genuinely lower than retail.

David Okeke

The wines were delivered within 5 days. However, not all the listed wines on purchase were sent… other wines were sent instead. I was disappointed because I bought the bundle because of those wines that were swapped for the ones I didn’t like.
