I really enjoyed my first 6 bottle case. Like most things in life “the hook” is usually good.I initially halted my application on the app when I hit the £90 membership, as I felt that was steep. Although the “discounts” suggested I would be getting far better quality wines at better prices and therefore recoup the outlay with the wines. The main issue I have is with the “discounts” as the wines are good but are generally at market price. It is a running joke with my daughter, as we share the wine. to see how close we can get the wine, via google, to the Winedrops price. We usually get to within two pounds. Now, before I hear you say £2 is £2, remember there is delivery (about £1 a bottle) and the £90 annual membership.I will not be renewing. That said, the wines are interesting and generally good. The deals are just not as good as they promote. And I’m guessing I won’t win the £500 bottle of wine with this review, honest and balanced as it is. ☺️

Beware the £90 non refundable charge they call a subscription. Currently disputing the return of mine. Having cancelled 11 days after sign up. Well within the statutory period of 14 days.Agreed to refund

Good prices. Selection is limited. Most of the wine has been great, some has been poor. While prices are indeed competitive, the actual RRP’s are often fabricated or exaggerated, which gives the impression you’re saving vast amounts more than if you’d have bought the wine directly. I was also told by a rep that my account wouldn’t auto-renew, and that I’d be contacted - this wasn’t the case, and I was charged another £90 for my yearly membership.

The wines are nice. The prices are a bit random, as are the discounts. That dispatch is triggered by purchase of a sixth bottle is irritating and makes it quite expensive

Pretty good although they don’t tell you when they are charging you for a subscription

Very seductive - too easy to buy wine on impulse. Good range of short offers and offers lesser known wines. Not convinced of huge discounts. Wine-searcher dot com finds similar prices. Note annual membership fee of £90 and added shipping costs.

Felt a bit pressured into making a purchase. Having had a phone call with a representative, I was charged for membership after agreeing with the representative that it wasn’t the right service for me.
Joan Joh from Customer Care gave me £90 credit so I could try out the delivery (which may not work for my address).
I put bottles up to £90 value in my basket but found it difficult to check/change my order- looking into it, I can email to cancel and refund the bottles in the basket.
Not sure what will happen next as our apartments post often gets stolen… will find out in the next couple of day. Fingers crossed our wine arrives!

EDIT REVIEWFollowing my experience last night, I did email Winedrops asking for a full refund. I’m pleased to say, not only have I received a full refund, they have emailed me apologising and followed this up with a phone call. I’m happy with their customer service and the fact they have recognised their error. Therefore I have changed this from 1 star to 3.Winedrops told me they had a special offer on, instead of paying £90 for an annual membership, I could try a quarterly one for £25. Took my details and they’ve took £90 out of my account. This is NOT what I agreed to!!!!!

Fine but the sparking lines I recognise are the same price as in the supermarkets (Chapel Down, Digby, Anna de codorniu etc). So not sure the prices are anything special but lots of choice.

Nice wines just a bit overpriced still compared to supermarket wines.

Strange that there are so many negative comments. The “membership fee” was completely obvious to me in the process. At £90 it is a little steep but 9 bottles at £10 below market and money is balanced. Thereafter it is just savings. The deciding factor is the quality of wine which is yet to be judged.Wine was ordered and delivered the next day so can’t fault the delivery service.Tasting tomorrow to see if this will be a permanent process :-)If the quality is there then the stars increase.

There is an interesting range of wines available. However it feels like they are all aimed at a more knowledgeable consumer. The prices are not low, however the savings are substantial. But if it is 50% off a £100 bottle you still need deep pockets!

Apps works well, few to many emails sent on the marketing side.

App not very good . Keeps adding more bottles than I want

I find some of the ads slightly misleading, been a member well over a year now, and still not seen what some of the ads have been saying. Other than that pretty good priced wine most of the time.

It’s a good concept but the app is clunky and dated.

More suited to a bigger budget
The selection of wine is pretty small in comparison to most other wine retailers and the discounts aren’t actually as good as they say, with a lot of the wines/ prices they advertise not being on the app. And the retail price they give isn’t accurate to what it actually is if you look online.
The £90 fee is extortionate given the above so I have only used the free trial and won’t look to renew.
That being said if you have a tendency to spend more than £20 on a bottle on a very regular basis it probably would be more suitable.

More clarity and explanation how it works from the outset would make for a better overall experience. Good prices though.

I liked the wines that were on offer. Some very expensive ones that I would not normally have access to, very pleased to see if I’ve been missing out!
Only problem was that DHL would not deliver without someone being at the address. As I work full time in the office that meant they didn’t deliver. Communication with DHL is only through their app, you cannot speak to anyone.
Eventually the wine was delivered on a Saturday.

Secret £90 subscription fee - do not useEdit; after threatening to the ombudsman and highlighting consumer protection laws regarding cooling off periods Jonny was able to refund the non refundable hidden fee

Whilst I enjoy the wines I am ordering and they do get delivered very quickly there are several things I’m disappointed in.1. I was sold on my favourite wines being available and much cheaper than buying in the supermarket, so far absolutely none of my favourite wines have become available.2. For my first order I got 2 bottles of whispering angel for £14.99 (bargain) but now they are £19.99 which you can get in some shops.3. It’s quite limited, often I go on and especially when I click on bargain or New Zealand it just says nothing in yet.The jury is out for me as to whether paying the £90 annual fee is worth it for me personally.

First box just arrived. The prices are pretty good but not the ‘huge savings’ promised. They are cheaper than elsewhere it seems but 10-20% and not the mega savings suggested. Also, you ca not se what wines are available until signing up. Am a bit disappointed that more wines are not generally available but then I guess that is the business model - they sell what they can buy in cheap at any one time and pass the savings on.
