Who is Silver Oak?
Silver Oak was founded in 1972 by Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer out of a dairy barn in Oakville, Napa Valley. From day one they made one decision only Cabernet Sauvignon, aged exclusively in American oak. At the time, most Napa wineries used French oak. Silver Oak went against the grain. It paid off. The wine sold out for 28 consecutive years. Today Ray’s sons David and Tim still run the family business across two estates, Napa Valley and Alexander Valley.
